  • 3X Harder Than Steel

    Titanium Bonded®

Titanium Bonded is not painted or plated, but an application of a unique formulation of titanium and chromium nitride to the surface of cutting blades that actually penetrates and treats the metal to create a permanent bond. The patented Titanium Bonding process provides the following benefits; corrosion resistance, adhesive resistance and the process itself makes the stainless steel 3x harder than untreated stainless providing a blade that stays sharper longer. This revolutionary cutting technology has made our patented Titanium Bonded Scissors® the most popular around the globe, and has helped Westcott win the title of “The World’s Favorite Scissors™.” We not only make sure our scissors perform to the highest standard, but also integrate our technology into the blades of our sharpeners, paper trimmers, and craft tools.

  • CarboTitanium Bonded

    CarboTitanium Bonded®:

Carbo Titanium Bonded blades are eight times harder than untreated stainless steel blades. Our patent-pending process creates a permanent molecular bond with the cutting surface so blades resist scratches, marks and stains. The blades will stay super sharp and smooth-cutting for years making them an exceptional value like all Westcott® products.

  • Titanium Bonded Non-Stick blades

    Titanium Bonded Non-Stick blades:

Titanium Bonded Non-Stick blades are now six times longer lasting than our original untreated stainless steel blades. Westcott® uses a process that bonds titanium to the blades and then coats them with a breakthrough non-stick formula to produce an adhesive-resistant, easy-to-clean, and longer-lasting cutting edge. These scissors will stay sharp, smooth-cutting and residue-free for years.

  • Carbonitride Titanium

    Carbonitride Titanium™:

Carbonitride Titanium is one of the hardest surface treatments containing titanium. Harder than carbide. Harder than chrome. Our proprietary process creates a permanent molecular bond with the blade surface. Will not flake, blister, chip, orpeel. A complex crystalline structure forms which protects the blade surface against wear, staining, and damage. Patent pending technology.

  • Aluminum Alloy:

Aluminum alloys tend to be more flexible than steels so they allow better and more creative designs. Though there are aluminum alloys with somewhat higher tensile strengths than the commonly used kinds of steel. Adding aluminum in mass provides strength and rigidity. Aluminum owes its excellent corrosion resistance to the barrier oxide film that is bonded strongly to its surface and that, if damaged, re-forms immediately in most environments. Aluminum alloy is the perfect material for Cuda brand marine-based tools.

  • Titanium Alloy:

Titanium Alloy is a lightweight alloy, corrosion resistant and is incredibly strong. Titanium alloy also has a very high tensile strength, toughness and ability to withstand extreme temperatures. Cudabrand uses Titanium alloy on select tools for added strength, without increasing the weight of the product.

  • Antimicrobial Product Protection

    Antimicrobial Product Protection:

Acme United offers a wide range of anti-microbial protected products that inhibit the growth of bacterial odors. This technology keeps products from degrading by preventing the growth of microorganisms. It's ideal for products that are shared around the home, office or school.

  • Micarta:

A synthetic material made from paper, linen or thick canvas impregnated with resin under pressure. Micarta® is extremely resistant to water, cold, heat, rot or corrosion therefore it is a perfect material for knife handles. Micarta® is a registered trademark of Norplex-Micarta.

  • Carbon Fiber:

Carbon fiber is actually made from a polymer called polyacrylonitrile combined with woven Kevlar during a complicated heating process. It is widely used because it has a number of characteristics that make it ideal for products required to be light in weight but extremely strong! Carbon fiber is 5X Stronger than steel and lighter than aluminum!

  • G10:

An extremely durable makeup of layers of fiberglass soaked in resin, then highly compressed and baked. Impervious to moisture or liquid and physically stable under climate change.

  • Glass-Kydex:

KYDEX® is a plastic that combines the advantageous properties of both the acrylic and the polyvinyl chloride components. The combination of strength properties of KYDEX places it at the highest level among thermoforming materials making it perfect for a form fit knife sheath. Kydex® is a registered trademark of Kydex, LLC.

  • VG-10:

A unique formulation of steel with a high carbon content. It contains various amounts of one or more of the following: Chromium, Vanadium and Cobalt. VG-10 is considered a "super steel," because it is designed to maintain sharpness and durability. In addition to its exceptional edge retention, being a stainless steel, VG-10 is also surprisingly corrosion resistant due to its fairly high chromium content.

  • AUS-8 Steel:

AUS-8 is a Japanese medium-carbon, high-chromium stainless steel. One word says it all, "balance". It offers exceptional balance between toughness, edge sharpness, and corrosion resistance. Balance provides lasting value. AUS-8 ranks among the hardest, toughest, and most rust-resistant knife alloys. It's a trusted favorite that enthusiasts prefer time and again.

  • Certified Double-Plated:

Clauss has always double-plated its hot-forged tools using nickel for luster and chrome for durability, ensuring you a product that is rust and stain resistant. Other companies often only nickel plate their blades. Then they must remove the nickel plating from the inside of the blades because it peels. In that case, you have pretty blades on the outside, with bare steel, which rusts and stains, on the inside. Our process costs us more, but ensures you a product with maximum service life. The Clauss certified, double-plated process is your guarantee that these tools are the very best available.
